Keider Montero allowed five runs over 4 1/3 innings in a no-decision against the Padres on Wednesday.
Montero got off to a good start, holding the Padres scoreless through three innings before Jackson Merrill took him deep for a three-run shot in the fourth. Manny Machado would drive in two more runs on a base hit in the fifth. Montero’s day would be done with one out in the inning with the game tied. The 24-year-old right-hander ends the day with a 5.47 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, and a 60/26 K/BB ratio across 74 innings. He’s in line for a start against the Rockies in Detroit on Tuesday.

Cubs manager Craig Counsell told reporters late Friday that Brad Keller will start a bullpen game on Saturday against the Mets.
The widely-held expectation is that Cubs top prospect Cade Horton is going to take the ball at some point during Saturday’s bullpen game, but Counsell refused to confirm it to reporters following Friday’s loss to the Mets.
Reds, Greene 'avoid disaster' with groin strain
James Schiano explains how the Cincinnati Reds and pitcher Hunter Greene avoided disaster with his groin strain considering his history of arm injuries, and why fantasy managers should look to get him for cheap.
  • KC 1st Baseman #14
Royals 1B/OF prospect Jac Caglianone launched a three-run homer on Friday for Double-A Northwest Arkansas.
The legend continues to grow. Caglianone’s exploits are reaching Paul Bunyan levels of mystique in the Texas League as his latest feat of strength came on Friday night when he homered for the fifth time in his last six contests at the Double-A level. He’s hit safely in 16 of his last 18 games and is up to nine round-trippers on the season. Royals general manager J.J. Picollo said earlier this week that the club isn’t going to rush his development in the short-term, but it’s probably time to see what he can do against Triple-A caliber pitching. He’s a challenging prospect to forecast from a long-term standpoint, but his early-season performance has vaulted him into top-15 dynasty prospect territory.
Aaron Judge, Jesús Made, Leo De Vries and Jac Caglianone headline early-season takeaways for dynasty purposes.
  • MIL Starting Pitcher #93
Brewers RHP prospect Jacob Misiorowski recorded 11 strikeouts over 6 2/3 scoreless innings on Friday for Triple-A Nashville.
Misiorowski appears to be putting it all together right now. The omnipresent command issues will never vanish completely, but he’s cut back on the free passes and threw a whopping 68 of 99 pitches for strikes in this latest outing. The hard-throwing 23-year-old touched triple-digits 17 times, including 102 mph twice, while generating an eye-popping 21 swinging strikes. It’s potential front-of-the-rotation stuff, if Misiorowski can harness it. He holds an impressive 1.49 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 54/18 K/BB ratio across 42 1/3 innings (eight appearances, seven starts) this season at the Triple-A level. It’s probably time for the Brewers to see if he can make it work in the big leagues.
  • NYM Starting Pitcher
Mets RHP prospect Nolan McLean recorded seven strikeouts over seven shutout innings on Friday for Triple-A Syracuse.
McLean turned in an extremely impressive Triple-A debut with his four-seam, cutter and sweeper mix generated 10 swinging strikes and he recorded an elite 36 percent CSW. The 23-year-old former third-round pick is one of the fastest-rising pitching prospects in the fantasy landscape this season, reaching the doorstep of the majors after posting a 1.37 ERA and 30/12 K/BB ratio across 26 1/3 innings (five starts) to open the year at Double-A Binghamton. The sweeper is a true above-average offering and gives him a real shot at success in the majors. There’s a chance he’s ready to pitch in New York at some point in the second half.
  • TOR Right Fielder #18
Blue Jays OF prospect Alan Roden went 4-for-5 with a three-run homer and five RBI on Friday for Triple-A Buffalo.
Roden reached base safely in five of his six plate appearances and came within a triple of hitting for the cycle in his second game back in the minors. The 25-year-old rookie was demoted earlier this week after hitting .178 with one homer through 28 games with the Blue Jays. He’s clearly talented enough from a hit tool standpoint to dominate in the upper minors, but it might take him some time to break through at the highest level.
  • CLE 2nd Baseman #87
Guardians 2B prospect Travis Bazzana connected for his fourth home run of the season on Friday for Double-A Akron.
Bazzana increased his hitting streak to seven consecutive games on Friday evening and is hitting .303 with two homers through nine games since May 1. The top-overall selection from last year’s MLB Draft appears to be on track to reach Cleveland at some point in the second half of the year.
  • MIA Starting Pitcher
Marlins LHP prospect Thomas White recorded a season-high eight strikeouts over five shutout innings on Friday for High-A Beloit.
White is one of the most promising pitching prospects in baseball, period. The 20-year-old southpaw’s fastball and slider combination is going to lead to astronomical strikeout totals down the road and make him an impact fantasy contributor. He set down 10 of the final 11 batters he faced on Friday, lowering his full-season ERA to a strong 3.24 mark through six starts for High-A Beloit. He should reach the upper minors at some point in the second half of the year with a chance to make it to Miami in 2026.
  • PIT Shortstop #85
Pirates SS/OF prospect Konnor Griffin tallied a career-high four hits on Friday for Low-A Bradenton.
Griffin’s four-hit effort included his sixth big fly of the season, increasing his full-season batting average to .283 in the process. He currently ranks third in the entire Florida State League in round-trippers as one of the youngest players at the level at just 19 years old. The ninth-overall pick in last year’s MLB Draft is quickly evolving into an elite dynasty prospect and should reach top-10 status by midseason. He’s hitting .375 (18-for-48) with eight extra-base hits and one steal over his past 10 games.
  • DET Center Fielder #95
Tigers OF prospect Max Clark went 3-for-5 with a solo homer and two RBI on Friday for High-A West Michigan.
Clark’s impressive three-hit performance included his second round-tripper of the season. The 20-year-old prodigy is hitting .440 since the start of May and boasts a robust .876 OPS through 26 games for High-A West Michigan. He projects as an impact fantasy contributor in runs scored, batting average and stolen bases once he reaches the majors and should continue to grow into some additional over-the-fence pop. He’s a top-10 dynasty prospect heading towards the midway point of the 2025 campaign.
  • PIT Center Fielder #28
Tommy Pham was scratched from Friday’s lineup due to illness.
Pham was feeling under the weather so Pirates interim manager Don Kelly elected to give rookie Alexander Canario a start in left field. The 37-year-old veteran figures to return to Pittsburgh’s lineup at some point this weekend once he’s feeling better.
