Dodgers sign reliever John Grabow to minor-league contract

John Grabow has agreed to a minor-league deal with the Dodgers, according to Tim Dierkes of MLB Trade Rumors.

To get a sense for how far Grabow’s stock has fallen, consider that he just finished a two-year, $7.5 million contract with the Cubs that was signed shortly after they acquired him from the Pirates in a five-player swap.

During that two-year deal Grabow threw 88 innings with a 5.52 ERA and 58/41 K/BB ratio. Even at his best Grabow had mediocre strikeout rates and sub par control, but he could stick in the Dodgers’ bullpen as a left-handed middle reliever.
