DeMarre Carroll a game-time decision, but there’s pessimism for Game 2

DeMarre Carroll hyperextended his left knee, which – considering how bad the injury looked – is good news for the Hawks.

They might even have Carroll for Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals tonight, but…

Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com:

Carroll is the Hawk best-equipped to defend LeBron James. If Carroll can’t play, that’s terrifying for Atlanta. Especially if Kyrie Irving is also out, this shapes up to be a huge night for LeBron.

The Hawks will have to counter with more Paul Millsap on LeBron, probably Kent Bazemore starting and maybe Mike Scott in the rotation. They can win that way, but it certainly won’t be easy.
