Kevin Durant will be back this season.
But he is going to be out about two months after suffering a Jones fracture in his right foot.
It sucks to have the consensus second best player walking the face of the earth out for at least the first month of the season (and likely more) because he is a joy to watch. It’s also going to suck for the Thunder — the Western Conference is unforgiving and while the Thunder will still be good with Russell Westbrook and Serge Ibaka, they will likely lose some ground in the seedings. This is the kind of thing that could haunt them come the second round of the playoffs when a team like the Spurs or Clippers could have home court in the series.
But Durant will be back.
His tweet from Sunday night takes a classically Durant positive tone.
