Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside is a gigantic human being, even in comparison to Oklahoma City Thunder star Steven Adams. That’s probably why, when Adams caught an alley-oop from Russell Westbrook against the Heat on Tuesday night, he had to dunk on top of Whiteside instead of over him.
I’ll explain.
As Adams went up for the pass, he had a grounded Whiteside standing in front of him. The Thunder big man successfully caught the ball and threw it through the nylon, but found himself unable to push Whiteside out of the way or clear him with his jump.
So instead, he just sort of rode him. Piggy back style.
