Getafe 1-1 Villarreal
Villarreal’s poor run of form continues as the side remains winless in La Liga since March 8th following a draw at Getafe. Ikechukwu Uche put Villarreal ahead in the 52nd minute, but Diego Castro leveled for the home side right after the hour mark to earn a share of the points. Making things worse for Villarreal, defender Mateo Musacchio had to be stretchered off following a horrific ankle injury as video replays are graphic and tough to watch for the faint of heart.
Real Sociedad 2-2 Deportivo
David Moyes’ Sociedad side twice held a lead against struggling Deportivo but failed to take all three points, with the match finishing in a 2-2 draw. Xabi Prieto opened the scoring from the penalty spot for Sociedad and Chory Castro added the second on a brilliant volley from a tight angle. But Deportivo rallied behind Victor Sanchez del Amo, as the former player was in charge of his first match as manager and jumped three spots on the table with the draw.

Cordoba 0-2 Elche
Elche got a crucial win over last-place Cordoba to go three points clear of the relegation zone in La Liga. Leading 1-0 at half, 20-year-old Chelsea loanee Mario Pasalic doubled Elche’s lead in the second, connecting on a cross with a header to the near post. Cordoba was sent to ten men when Borja Garcia was shown red for head-butting Victor Rodriguez late in the match, and the side remains winless in La Liga since January.

Napoli 3-0 Fiorentina
Napoli jumped over Fiorentina to fourth place in Serie A following a massive 3-0 win today. Belgian international Dries Mertens gave the hosts a 1-0 lead at the break, while Marek Hamsik and Jose Callejon added to the tally in the second half. Napoli should have had another as Gonzalo Higuain hit a rocket off the underside of the bar, with video replays clearly showing the ball cross the line. However, the referee allowed play to continue as goal-line technology will start being used in Serie A next season.
Torino 1-1 Roma
Roma drops to third on the table after drawing Torino on the road. An Alessandro Florenzi penalty in the 57th minute gave Roma the lead, only to concede an equalizer from Maxi Lopez just seven minutes later. That makes it nine draws in the last 13 matches for Roma, who now sit a point behind Lazio and 13 points behind league-leaders Juventus.
Milan 1-1 Sampdoria
Sampdoria spoiled AC Milan’s bid for three straight wins, taking away a point from the San Siro. The visitors struck first as Roberto Soriano finished off an assist from Samuel Eto’o right before the hour mark. Nigel de Jong, usually known for his brute defending, showed a flash of skill as the Dutchman scored on an acrobatic overhead kick to save a point for Milan.
