On Tuesday, the Timbers announced the signing of Leicester City midfielder/defender Jack Barmby on loan. The 21-year old will occupy an international spot on Portland’s roster.
Barmby joins Portland after spending time this season with League Football Championship side Rotherham United and League Two club Notts County, while on loan from Leicester.
With the likes of Diego Chara, Diego Valeri and Darlington Nagbe at the disposal of head coach Caleb Porter, the addition of Barmby will provide the reining MLS Cup champion Timbers with depth throughout the lengthy 2016 season.
