  • BAL Starting Pitcher #68
Orioles transferred RHP Tyler Wells from the 15-day to the 60-day injured list.
Wells is out for the season and probably the first half of 2025 after having his UCL repaired earlier this week.
  • BAL Relief Pitcher #78
Yennier Canó was unavailable for Saturday’s game against the Tigers due to soreness.
Very nondescript, but either way, Canó didn’t work in the 4-2 win against the Tigers with the Orioles going with Seranthony Dominguez and Cionel Perez instead. It remains to be seen whether Canó can go for Sunday’s finale against the Tigers, but Hyde was hopeful that the reliever would be available.
  • DET Center Fielder #22
Parker Meadows hit a solo homer in a loss Saturday to the Orioles.
Meadows hit a homer in the ninth off Seranthony Dominguez to get the Tigers on the board, but it was still a 4-1 game. The 24-year-old now has gone deep eight times with 32 RBI, and it’s worth pointing out that has come in just 68 games. There’s some real long-term upside in Meadows’ bat.
  • BAL Center Fielder #31
Cedric Mullins went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a steal in a win over the Tigers on Saturday.
Mullins continues to play well after his dreadful start, and gave the Orioles a 1-0 lead with a single in the third. The 29-year-old has now stolen 28 bases to go with 51 RBI and an OPS of .720. That’s a solid last number, and more impressive when you consider it was .658 on August 8.
  • BAL Shortstop #2
Gunnar Henderson hit a two-run homer and stole a base to help the Orioles to a win Saturday over the Tigers.
Henderson’s homer got out in a hurry with an exit velocity over 106 mph and a hang-time of under four seconds. It’s the 37th homer for the young star shortstop, and the steal brings him to 19. In a lot of years Henderson would be near the top of MVP lists, but this is not like most years. Still, Henderson seems like a guy who has a chance to be in the conversation for a long time.
  • BAL Starting Pitcher #39
Corbin Burnes shut out the Tigers over seven innings with seven strikeouts to get a win in a 4-2 victory for the Orioles on Saturday.
This is why you trade for Corbin Burnes. The right-hander has been sensational for Baltimore in his first year away from the Brewers, but this was him at his best. He did walk one, but he allowed just three baserunners in the contest while keeping the Detroit offense off-balance throughout and generating 18 whiffs in the contest. Burnes now has a 3.06 ERA, and he’s bounced back nicely from his disappointing August. He gets the Tigers again Friday.
  • DET Starting Pitcher #36
Ty Madden allowed just a run in 3 2/3 innings against the Orioles, but took a loss in relief Saturday.
Once again Madden pitched behind an opener in Beau Brieske, and once again he was effective in that role. Just not effective enough to get a win with Corbin Burnes silencing the Tigers bats Saturday. After putting up atrocious numbers in the minors, Madden now has a 2.55 ERA and 13/5 K/BB over his five appearances. It seems unlikely Detroit will change things up, and Madden will be worth streaming consideration whenever he pitches again. It’ll likely be a rematch with Baltimore next Sunday.
  • TB Third Baseman #13
Junior Caminero went 3-for-4 with three doubles and an RBI in a loss Saturday to the Guardians.
Caminero got the Rays on the board in the eighth one of of those doubles. The three two-baggers give him six in just 31 games with the Rays, while the RBI is his 13th in that time frame. A wonderful reminder of just how much talent there is in Caminero’s bat at the age of 21.
  • CLE Third Baseman #11
José Ramírez went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and two runs scored in a 6-1 win over the Rays on Saturday.
While most of the attention has been on Shohei Ohtani and his quest for 50-50, J-Ram is closing in on being one of the few members of the 40-40 club. The 31-year-old third baseman scorched a solo homer to give him 35 homers to go with 39 stolen bases. The ever-so-underrated Ramírez remains a fantasy stalwart who has also driven in 107 runs in his 146 games.
  • TB Relief Pitcher #14
Tyler Alexander was charged for four runs over four innings in a loss to the Guardians on Saturday.
Alexander was strong in his first two innings of relief of Drew Rasmussen — who fired two scoreless as the opener — but then gave up an RBI double to Brayan Rocchio in the fifth and three more runs in the sixth. Alexander walked two in the contest with just one strikeout. He will remain off the fantasy radar even with a chance to get a win next time out; likely against the Blue Jays over the weekend.
  • CLE Starting Pitcher #54
Joey Cantillo blanked the Rays over five innings to get a win Saturday.
Cantillo allowed three hits with one walk, and he struck out six. It’s worth noting he’s faced two of the worst lineups in the sport in his last pair of starts, but he hasn’t allowed a run in either while striking out 16 with one walk across 13 2/3 innings. He still has an ERA of 4.99 even with that success, but it’s at least a little encouraging. Maybe even a lot encouraging. Cantillo will have a massive matchup next week against the Twins on Thursday.
