Braves right-hander Tommy Hanson made it through a bullpen session Friday without feeling any sort of pain or discomfort in his once-sore throwing shoulder. As such, he has been cleared to return to the Atlanta starting rotation on Tuesday against the Mariners.

The good news comes via beat writer David O’Brien of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Hanson was placed on the 15-day disabled list on June 17 with right shoulder tendinitis and will wind up missing only two starts. The 24-year-old returns to a stellar 8-4 record, 2.48 ERA and 1.03 WHIP. He has held opponents to a .189 batting average while racking up 89 strikeouts in 83 1/3 total innings.

As of Sunday morning, the Braves are four games back of the Phillies in the National League East.
