In an attempt to address their front-office situation, the Portland Trail Blazers held an informal press event on Monday afternoon. Current team President Larry Miller and General Manager Kevin Pritchard each spoke for “about 15 minutes” according to Benjamin Golliver of BlazersEdge, who was in attendance and live-tweeted the event.
There was some speculation that Pritchard would resign at the press conference, but he will stay the General Manager for the time being. In Golliver’s words, “Miller essentially refused to directly give [Pritchard] a vote of confidence and pushed everything to the end of the season.”
Other notable moments from the press conference include Pritchard distancing himself from his agent, Warren LeGarie, and Miller denying that there was any sort of a personal issue between him and recently fired executive Tom Penn.
