Pascal Siakam is having a nice little rookie season for the Toronto Raptors. His advanced numbers show promising production for his first year, and he’s been in a few highlight videos like the one we saw from Toronto’s matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday night.
The play started with Siakam trailing Lou Williams on a pick-and-roll toward the middle of the lane.
Williams thought he had enough space to attempt a finger roll at the rim, but Siakam had found an extra gear as he trailed around the pick.
Once the Lakers guard let go of the shot, Siakam rejected it fiercely off the backboard, sending the ball hurtling back toward the Raptors basket.
That’s when Kyle Lowry took over, jumping out to gather the ball and finish at the other end with a finger roll of his own.
It wasn’t an assist, but perhaps NBA.com/stats will credit Siakam with a hockey assist?
