Jose Mourinho had originally planned to put his Chelsea squad through a pair of training sessions on Saturday ahead of the Premier League-leading side’s Sunday away clash with Southampton (Watch live on NBCSN and online via Live Extra, 9 am ET).

The players were less than thrilled about the Portuguese manager’s training schedule and, according to Mourinho, had resorted to “crying” in order to get their way and a lightened weekend workload.

Be careful what you wish for around Mourinho, though, because he’s a bit conniving and he’ll often find a way to give you exactly what you asked for, yet still make things worse than before. According to London24, that’s exactly what he did following Friday’s 2-0 victory over West Ham United:

“In the start I had two training sessions planned for tomorrow, but they were crying so much in the changing room, I decided to make a change and they are training now and they will only have one session tomorrow.”

Surely this current Chelsea squad complains will never again complain about its training schedule with Mourinho in charge.
