Harry Kane has been a revelation for Tottenham this season, scoring 24 goals in 39 appearances while helping Spurs battle for a berth in the Champions League.
Looking forward to next season, Tottenham doesn’t want those goals drying up.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino has come out and said that the club would like Kane to rest over the summer, rather than represent England in the European Under-21 Championship.
The tournament takes place from mid-late June in the Czech Republic, which would give Kane very little recovery time from the end of the Premier League season.

Pochettino said he would like to discuss the matter with the FA and do what’s best for both sides, but also referred to Kane as “our player.”Maybe I would prefer that Harry has a month’s holiday after the season to rest and recover his body and mind.
We need to arrive at a deal with the player and the FA. This is my opinion but I realize we need to support the national team and to take the best decision for us all.
This is our concern, he is our player. The FA need the player to play, but at the same time they are concerned about the development of their own young talent.”
In his first season as a staple in the first-team for Tottenham, Kane is slated to play more than 50 matches. He will also almost certainly receive his first call-up to the England senior team for their matches against Lithuania and Italy later this month.
Pochettino and the club have a point in their reasoning, as Spurs would not be anywhere near the position they are in the league without Kane’s brilliance throughout the season. Playing 50+ matches would surely cause some fatigue in the striker, and at 21-years-old, Tottenham doesn’t want to take that risk.
