  • DET Starting Pitcher #12
Casey Mize tossed six shutout innings Sunday as the Tigers topped the Twins 6-1.
It’s the first win for Mize since he returned from Tommy John. His previous victory came on Aug. 24, 2021, when he outpitched current teammate Jack Flaherty in defeating the Cardinals. Mize has a 2.95 ERA through four starts this year. His 18% strikeout rate isn’t great, but that his groundball rate is considerably better than usual is helping to make it work.
  • LAD Center Fielder #44
Andy Pages went 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored on Saturday, propelling the Dodgers to a 4-1 victory over the Rockies.
It was a much-needed strong performance for Pages, who has three multi-hit efforts over his last four contests after going just 3-for-29 over his previous seven contests. The 23-year-old rookie outfielder has held his own at the highest level since a mid-April promotion from Triple-A Oklahoma City and looks like he’s going to stick around moving forward.
  • COL Shortstop #14
Ezequiel Tovar went 3-for-4 with a double on Saturday in the Rockies’ loss to the Dodgers.
Tovar notched his second consecutive three-hit performance to raise his batting average to .302 (71-for-235) with eight homers and four steals through 56 contests. The 22-year-old shortstop has been an unexpected batting average booster this season and wound up leading the National League with 16 extra-base hits during the month of May. That’ll do.
  • LAD Relief Pitcher #59
Evan Phillips tossed a perfect ninth inning on Saturday against the Rockies to collect his ninth save of the season.
Phillips got the call to protect a three-run lead in the final frame and required just 11 pitches (seven strikes) to slam the door. The 29-year-old righty picked up his first save since returning from the injured list ahead of Friday’s series opener and remains one of the better closing options in the entire fantasy landscape.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #18
Yoshinobu Yamamoto recorded seven strikeouts and allowed one run over six innings on Saturday in a win over the Rockies.
Yamamoto punched out seven batters for the third consecutive start and limited Colorado’s lineup to just a second-inning sacrifice fly from Brenton Doyle over six strong frames. The 25-year-old rookie right-hander has been phenomenal so far in his Dodgers debut, allowing three earned runs or fewer in nine of his 12 starts this season. He’ll carry a solid 3.32 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 76/14 K/BB ratio across 65 innings (12 starts) into a highly-anticipated road tilt on Friday against the Yankees.
  • COL Starting Pitcher #47
Cal Quantrill allowed four runs over 4 1/3 innings on Saturday in a loss to the Dodgers.
Quantrill was saddled with his first loss since April 27 when Los Angeles got to him for nine hits during Saturday’s showdown at Dodger Stadium. He finished with only one strikeout and handed out a pair of free passes. The 29-year-old righty has unexpectedly excelled in his Rockies debut this season, but isn’t exactly a relevant fantasy option due to his lack of significant strikeout upside. There’s some streaming appeal away from Coors Field in deeper mixed leagues as he holds a respectable 3.84 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 50/25 K/BB ratio across 68 innings (12 starts). He’s been a nice find for Colorado’s front office. He’ll square off against the Cardinals on Thursday at Busch Stadium in his next outing.
  • NYY Right Fielder #99
Aaron Judge clobbered a 464-foot two-run homer on Saturday, powering the Yankees to a 7-3 victory over the Giants.
Judge took Giants ace Logan Webb deep to left-center field in the opening frame for his major league-leading 21st round-tripper of the season. The 32-year-old fantasy superstar became the first hitter this year to reach the 20-homer plateau with a two home run outburst during Friday’s series opener at spacious Oracle Park, finishing the month of May with an astronomical .361/.479/.918 triple-slash line with 14 homers and 27 RBI across 28 games. The Southern California native is clearly enjoying his time back in the Bay Area and finds himself in the midst of one of the hottest stretches of his career with eight homers over his last 10 games since May 22.
  • SF Third Baseman #10
Casey Schmitt went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer on Saturday in the Giants’ loss to the Yankees.
Schmitt slashed San Francisco’s early deficit in half by taking Yankees starter Cody Poteet deep to left-center field in the third inning. It was his first round-tripper of the season. He was the lone Giants’ batter to reach base more than once during Saturday’s one-sided affair at Oracle Park as Yankees starter Cody Poteet and a quartet of relievers limited them to just five hits combined.
  • NYY Shortstop #11
Anthony Volpe went 1-for-4 with a double on Saturday in the Yankees’ win over the Giants.
Volpe’s 21-game hitting streak came to an end during Thursday’s series finale against the Angels when he went 0-for-5, but he’s reached base safely in 28 consecutive contests since May 2, which puts him in a tie with teammate Aaron Judge for the longest active streak in the game. The 23-year-old is excelling at the dish in the wake of last offseason’s offensive overhaul to his swing and approach. His .351 on-base percentage will certainly work atop New York’s lineup moving forward.
  • NYY Starting Pitcher #72
Cody Poteet was charged with three runs (two earned) on Saturday in a win over the Giants.
Poteet struck out six and only issued one walk. He gave up only three hits as a two-run homer by Casey Schmitt and a run-scoring single from Brett Wisely accounted for all of the damage against him. The 29-year-old righty has pitched well in a pair of spot starts for New York and figures to remain in the big leagues for the next few weeks until Gerrit Cole (elbow) is ready to make his season debut. Despite his encouraging early results, he’s not a recommended fantasy option when he faces the Dodgers’ star-studded lineup on Friday in his next outing.
  • SF Starting Pitcher #62
Logan Webb gave up four runs over seven innings on Saturday in a loss to the Yankees.
Webb fell behind right away in this one when he served up a colossal two-run homer to Aaron Judge in the opening frame. He was tagged for a pair of additional runs in the third inning, but managed to escape further damage, and wound up still completing seven frames to spare San Francisco’s bullpen. He struck out six and only handed out one free pass. The 27-year-old workhorse will carry a strong 2.95 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 67/20 K/BB ratio across 79 1/3 innings (13 starts) into a challenging road matchup on Friday against the Rangers.
