  • ATL Tight End #89

The Athletic’s Matt Barrows reports the 49ers “seem to be relying on” TE Charlie Woerner “to make a big leap this offseason.”
Woerner, a sixth-round pick last year out of Georgia — the only Niners tight end besides Kittle who was drafted — enters OTAs amid a jumble of tight ends behind the dominant Kittle. Woerner caught a grand total of 34 passes during his time at Georgia, and was used primarily as a blocking tight end. Ross Dwelley has usually functioned as the Niners’ pass-catching tight end when Kittle is sidelined with one of his many injuries. Woerner’s background suggests he wouldn’t take on that role if Kittle once again misses time in 2021.

Rams HC Sean McVay said “those conversations are ongoing” when asked about the possibility of trading for Jalen Ramsey.
The Rams trading for Ramsey is far from a lock, but McVay said during a conversation on SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Sports Radio that the Rams are “never going to shy away from opportunities to increase the competitiveness” of their roster, while also saying “there’s not too much of an update” on the situation as a whole. The Rams first traded for Ramsey in October of 2019, and then traded him to the Dolphins during the 2023 offseason. The 30-year-old corner will be moving from the Dolphins at some point this offseason, with May or June looking like the most likely months for a trade or release. Ramsey has appeared in 27 of a possible 34 regular season games for the Dolphins, totaling 82 tackles five interceptions and 16 pass breakups. He still has plenty to offer any defense, and could immediately elevate a defense that appears to be on the upswing after surpassing expectations last season.
Rookies Higgins, Noel great fits in Texans WR room
Kyle Dvorchak breaks down how the Houston Texans could effectively utilize Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel, the pair of Iowa State wide receivers they selected on Day 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft.
  • CLE Linebacker #30
KDKA Pittsburgh’s Colin Dunlap reports that Browns LB Devin Bush was arrested for simple assault and harassment on Sunday.
Further details on the matter have not yet been released. Per the police report, Bush is awaiting preliminary arraignment. The Browns re-signed Bush to a one-year, $3.25 million contract in early March, following a 50-tackle season with the team in 2024.
  • NFL Commissioner
The Washington Post’s Mark Maske reports that Washington, D.C., will host the 2027 NFL Draft on the National Mall.
The NFL was reportedly scouting D.C. as a potential draft weekend locale as early as last May, so this announcement has been in the works for quite some time. Just one week ago, ESPN’s John Keim also reported that the Commanders have struck a deal to build a new stadium on the old RFK Stadium site, with the goal of hosting Commanders home games there by 2030. Washington is making its presence felt in the football world.
  • Chiefs signed No. 32 overall pick OT Josh Simmons to a four-year contract.
Simmons is having a very good Sunday. Earlier this morning, Simmons exceeded expectations by appearing as a limited participant in positional rookie minicamp drills. He ruptured his patellar tendon in Week 7 of the 2024 college season and has been rigorously rehabbing the injury this offseason. He’ll battle for a job on the outside in training camp assuming he can get his knee up to full speed by then.
  • GB Wide Receiver #9
Christian Watson (knee) said his recovery is “going really well.”
Watson said he’s “got a couple more months” ahead of him, presumably referring to his recovery, although he is not expected to take the field until midseason after tearing his ACL in Week 18. His surgery date has not yet been revealed, so it is difficult to estimate a return-to-play date 10-12 months post-op. For now, we’ll take the positive news and celebrate Watson for “attacking it every day.” His return will probably be in play at some point in late October or early November.
  • HOU Wide Receiver #3
The Houston Chronicle’s Jonathan M. Alexander reports Tank Dell (knee) “will more than likely miss the 2025 season and be placed on the physically unable to perform list.”
NBC Houston’s Aaron Wilson provided us with our last update Dell’s recovery processes back in mid-February, when Dell’s ACL reconstruction was reportedly pending after successful LCL and MCL operations. Per Alexander, Dell underwent ACL reconstruction in early March, beginning the countdown for a potential return in 12 months or less. Returning to play sometime in Spring 2026 would allow Dell to rejoin the team in time for all offseason workouts and organized team activities and, hopefully, set him up for a bounce-back season later that year.
  • BAL Kicker #9
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh told reporters that personnel decisions regarding the kicker position “will be based on football.”
Reporters asked Harbaugh about the NFL’s open investigation into Justin Tucker’s 16 sexual assault allegations, and whether the Ravens might move on from Tucker with sixth-round rookie K Tyler Loop now in the fold. Harbaugh answered by saying the Ravens’ organization does not know “anything” about the investigation and has not been given any information by the league. Per Harbaugh, “every decision” the Ravens make must therefore “be based on football,” citing things like practice performance, draft capital and salary cap implications as critical factors. Loop promisingly converted 45-of-47 field goals attempted from 0-to-39 yards out in his college career.
  • Chiefs OT Josh Simmons was a surprise participant at rookie minicamp.
Simmons’ participation comes days after head coach Andy Reid suggested the rookie would be sidelined as he continues to recover from a non-contact knee injury he suffered in Week 7 of last year. Simmons did not participate in 11-on-11 drills, but did dress out and participate in offensive line drills. It sounds as if Simmons is hoping to be ready by training camp after the rookie said he wants to “attack rehab as hard as (he) can” in hopes of being “the most help that (he) can be” come camp. Whether or not he’ll step into a starting role come Week 1 will likely be determined by his health and how much work he can get in during camp. The Chiefs signed Jaylon Moore this offseason and can afford to let Simmons come along slowly.
  • FA Running Back #35
    Eagles waived RB Tyrion Davis-Price.
A former third-round pick of the 49ers back in 2022, Davis-Price has appeared in just eight games during his career, amassing 127 scoreless yards on the ground on 43 carries. The former LSU Tiger has struggled to find his footing in the pros, and will be battling to make a 53-man roster wherever he lands next.
  • DAL Cornerback
Cowboys CB Shavon Revel said he “can pretty much do everything” after suffering a torn ACL last season.
The Cowboys are hoping Revel turns into one of the steals of this year’s draft. The former ECU Pirate displayed first-round caliber talent throughout his collegiate career, but likely slipped to the third round due to his injury. The rookie corner participated in walkthroughs at rookie minicamp and but did not that he hasn’t “gotten too much into” cutting just yet. Revel was injured in last September and is expected to be cleared come training camp. It sounds as if things are trending in the right direction, so we’ll see how things shape up over the next several months.
