  • IND Wide Receiver #2

His Wednesday DNP was likely just a rest day after taking a beating on his six targets against the Texans. Downs should be up for Week 14 based on this update, but he’s at best a risky FLEX given his spot in the pecking order for the Colts offense.
  • IND Quarterback #17
Jones is playing through a fractured fibula and might be on the injury report for the remainder of the year. The good news is that he managed the issue well in Week 13, taking one sack without turning the ball over. A full practice today means that the injury won’t prevent him from playing in Week 14. With the Colts likely leaning on their ground game to protect Jones going forward, fantasy managers should treat him as a high-end QB2 as opposed to the locked-in QB1 they thought they had earlier this year.
  • IND Wide Receiver #2
Downs was on the injury report with a hip issue earlier in the year. The knee injury, however, is new. Downs had already taken a backseat to several Indy pass-catchers before suffering the knee injury. Even if he plays this week, it’s hard to see his role growing while he’s banged up. Downs is tumbling into the WR5 ranks with the fantasy playoffs on the horizon.
  • IND Cornerback #1
Gardner, Rapoport believes, could return to the Colts lineup within the next four weeks. That opens up the possibility that Gardner could be at full health — or something close to it — if the Colts right the ship and make it to the postseason. The Colts are expected to be careful with Gardner’s calf injury in hopes of not complicating the injury in a way that would jeopardize the corner’s entire season.
  • FA Kicker #9
We can see why the Colts wouldn’t have wanted that to get out ahead of signing Blake Grupe. Still, this is two teams in two weeks that have kicked the tires on Tucker despite his 10-game suspension over sexual misconduct allegations. He’s probably going to continue to get work on the kicker tryout circuit. The Colts also brought in Maddux Trujillo.
  • IND Kicker #19
He’ll likely be elevated a few times as roster manipulation while the Colts figure out if he’s the answer. Grupe struggled this year for the Saints, hitting just 18-of-26 field goals, including two inside of 40 yards. He’ll be a worthwhile fantasy play if the Colts can get their offense back on track against the Jaguars in Week 14.
  • FA Kicker #12
The Money Badger missed a huge extra point against the Texans in Week 13 and had missed three of his 21 extra points in total. It’ll be a different kicker for the Colts after today’s tryouts resolve, and whoever they pick will find themselves in a favorable Week 14 situation against the Jaguars. Blake Grupe was one name publicly identified from the tryouts earlier today.
  • FA Kicker #19
Michael Badgley missed a critical extra point in the Colts’ Week 13 loss to the Texans and head coach Shane Steichen was noncommittal on Badgley keeping the starting job for Week 14. Grupe, who was released by the Saints last week, had missed eight of his 26 field goal tries this season. An 85 percent field goal kicker during his NFL career, Grupe would have some fantasy upside in the Colts offense if he lands the starting job.
  • IND Cornerback #1
It’s the best Gardner and the Colts could have hoped for after the initial injury appeared to be much worse on the field. Gardner will miss a few weeks with what is officially being diagnosed as a strained calf, but according to Rapoport, the Colts hope to have him back before the end of the regular season. Barring an unexpected turn of events, Gardner should avoid a stint on injured reserve. Mekhi Blackmon is listed behind him on the depth chart and should step in to replace Gardner during his absence.
  • IND Cornerback #1
Gardner is undergoing additional tests to determine the exact severity of the injury, but as Fowler notes, Gardner seems to have avoided a major injury. We’ll likely get a clearer timeline on Gardner’s impending absence in the next 24 hours or so, but it sounds like he’ll be a lock to miss Week 14’s game against the Jaguars, and perhaps Week 15’s game against the Seahawks. In three games with the Colts this season, Gardner has totaled 13 tackles and two pass breakups while holding opposing receivers to 38 yards on 10 targets.
