Danny Welbeck landed awkwardly, providing a scary visual as his knee bent unnaturally.

The English striker, 25, has a rough injury history and left Arsenal’s 2-2 draw against Manchester City on his own power.

But manager Arsene Wenger says the injury could be serious, though he’s taking an optimistic approach.

From the BBC:

“The first signs look like lateral meniscus. He looks down, and he’s not a guy who likes to go off. I’m a bit worried. I don’t want to say about the Euros - let’s be a bit more optimistic.”

Stay tuned, as England would certainly prefer to have Welbeck as an option for the tournament in France. A lateral meniscus tear would be very difficult to overcome in time for the tournament.
