POINT GUARD
De’Aaron Fox - Sacramento (at Houston) - DK: $7,800 / FD: $7,900 / Yahoo: $36
Fox headlined Tuesday’s GPP Pivots article, coming through with 48 fantasy points vs. Denver. There’s plenty more where that came from, as the former Kentucky Wildcat should consistently spearhead Sacramento’s offense. The matchup is ripe as well, looking at the 231 over/under at Houston. Needless to say, I’m considering Fox a DFS building block through all formats tonight.
Also Consider: Elfrid Payton, George Hill
SHOOTING GUARD
Alec Burks - New York (at Toronto) - DK: $5,500 / FD: $5,700 / Yahoo: $18
First off, Burks is questionable tonight with an ankle injury. If he plays, I’m looking towards him as a serviceable value pick. Burks went for 36+ fantasy points in the first two games of this season before the ankle injury left him sidelined. We all know he’s a ball-dominant guard who can fill up the stat-sheet in a hurry, and playing for New York gives him the platform to produce. He’s currently averaging 1.25 FP/minute on the season, which should lead to fantasy value if he sees 28-32 minutes again tonight.
Also Consider: James Harden, Buddy Hield
SMALL FORWARD
OG Anunoby - Toronto (vs. New York) - DK: $5,800 / FD: $6,500 / Yahoo: $22
Anunoby is coming off an outstanding 47 fantasy point showing at Philadelphia on Tuesday. I’m not expecting a repeat performance, but it’s nice to know OG has some upside in his back pocket. Tonight’s matchup vs. New York looks easier on paper, and Anunoby should continue to see full starter minutes for the Raptors. The small forward position is pretty lackluster tonight, so OG emerges as a steady mid-range value to fill that void.
Also Consider: Brandon Ingram, Danuel House (cheap filler)
POWER FORWARD
Julius Randle - New York (at Toronto) - DK: $8,800 / FD: $8,000 / Yahoo: $34
Side note: this game will be played in Tampa, FL - which currently serves as the Raptors’ temporary home … Remember Alec Burks’ write-up earlier? The same sentiment applies to his teammate, Randle. The New York forward is an aggressive playmaker, sometimes to a fault. Playing for the Knicks gives him the ability to dominate the ball, and he has come through with two outings of 52+ fantasy points. I believe there’s enough usage for Burks and Randle to both hold value tonight, but Randle’s upside would ascend if Burks misses his third straight game.
Also Consider: Zion Williamson, Royce O’Neal (cheap filler)
CENTER
Richaun Holmes - Sacramento (at Houston) - DK: $5,200 / FD: $5,300 / Yahoo: $18
Let’s get back to the highest-scoring game of the night with the 231 over/under between Houston and Sacramento. Richaun Holmes is fresh off a 39 FP effort despite a tricky matchup vs. Denver, and now he’ll face a Houston team that ranks 28th in defensive efficiency to centers so far this season. Holmes is still cheap despite his breakout on Tuesday.
Also Consider: Mitchell Robinson, Chris Boucher (tournaments)
