NBA DFS Plays: Tuesday 12/25

Giannis Antetokounmpo

Giannis Antetokounmpo

Wendell Cruz-USA TODAY Sports

This article aims to highlight some of the best NBA DFS Plays at every position for your FanDuel and DraftKings lineups. Keep in mind that the following player write-ups were constructed earlier in the day, and sometimes injury/rest situations can alter the fantasy landscape. Monitoring our NBA News & Headlines Feed throughout the day will keep you in the loop while giving you the subsequent DFS consequences of each information piece.

Keep in mind that we are looking towards the main slate at 12:00 ET with five games.

POINT GUARD

Stephen Curry – Golden State (vs LA Lakers)

Curry headlines the point guard position on this Christmas slate while coming off a sweet 55 fantasy point performance Sunday vs the Clippers. Now he’s facing a Lakers team that ranks 19th in team defensive efficiency and 20th in opponent three-point percentage at 35.6%. This 234 over/under is the highest total of the day, and the Warriors will have the benefit of playing up in pace (LAL ranks 5th in possessions/game). I’m looking for Curry to get his numbers within that.

Also Consider: Kyrie Irving, Emmanuel Mudiay

SHOOTING GUARD

Eric Gordon – Houston (vs Oklahoma City)

Teammate James Harden is the main attraction at shooting guard, but Eric Gordon makes for a solid bargain choice. In two games since Chris Paul’s injury, Gordon has posted 31 and 30 fantasy points in 38 and 36 minutes respectively. That’s some solid output considering the mid-range salary. The full helping of playing time should help stabilize that production during CP3’s absence as well. The matchup doesn’t look great on paper vs Oklahoma City, but Gordon makes for a solid value pick due to an economical salary that doesn’t fully account for his heightened role with Paul out.

Also Consider: James Harden, Khris Middleton, Marcus Smart

SMALL FORWARD

Giannis Antetokounmpo – Milwaukee (at New York)

Giannis must have been on Santa’s “nice list”, because he received quite the gift here. The Milwaukee superstar will face a Knicks team that ranks dead last in defensive efficiency against opposing small forwards. New York ranks 29th in overall team defensive efficiency and 11th in pace, so this is a sure-fire breakout opportunity for Antetokounmpo. The last time Giannis faced the Knicks, he ended up with 75 fantasy points (!) in 41 minutes with a sweet 33-19-7 line on December 1. He’s certainly capable of replicating that upside in this elite matchup.

Also Consider: Paul George, Joe Ingles

POWER FORWARD

Draymond Green – Golden State (vs LA Lakers)

Green is still underpriced on DFS sites since coming back from injury a few weeks ago. His minutes have stabilized into the 33-36 range, hitting 37 and 44 fantasy points respectively over the past two contests. As mentioned earlier, this is a great matchup for Golden State while playing up in pace with the highest over/under of the day. The Lakers rank middle of the pack against opposing frontcourt players, so this is a non-imposing matchup for Draymond to keep the momentum.

Also Consider: Kevin Knox, Noah Vonleh, Jerami Grant

CENTER

Ivica Zubac – LA Lakers (at Golden State)

JaVale McGee has been ruled out, so it appears that Zubac will see another boost in playing time. He has logged 32 minutes within that role in each of his past two games, showcasing some efficient performances with 40 and 36 fantasy points against the Pelicans and Grizzlies respectively. There’s a chance Zubac will see less playing time while the Lakers try to counter the Warriors small-ball approach, but he should still log around 25+ minutes. That should be more than enough to post a quality performance on his bargain basement salary. It helps that Golden State ranks 20th vs centers and 22nd in rebound rate.

Also Consider: Rudy Gobert, Enes Kanter
