My adventure on Big Break Atlantis was breath taking, frightening, thrilling and overall, simply wonderful. I cannot recall an event, golf or not, in my brief 23 years that has evoked loads of emotions in such a fleeting amount of time.
The day of my elimination, Mark, Julien, and I woke up and sat down to eat breakfast together. I remember thinking just how close I was to becoming the next Big Break champion, and how much that would do for my career.
As soon as show one started and the Glass Break Challenge was in my hands, I felt whole again. A club in my hand, something on the line, people rooting for and against you...this is what I love.
When someone tells you, You have to make this shot happen, take the least amount of strokes or you go home. What does that really feel like? Well now I know.
It is always hard playing on a team as sometimes you cant influence the result which affects you so greatly, but this is what makes it so exciting. You need some luck to go far in this format.
I never thought that I would leave the show with a few lifelong friends and higher confidence than when I started, even though I was kicked off in week four.
First off, I just want to say how exciting it was to watch the first episode of Big Break Ireland. I’ve played in a lot of golf tournaments and huge money matches and I’ve never been as nervous as I was to watch the premiere.
We went up to the viewing-room, and there in the center was our Big Break Ireland poster. Looking at ourselves on that poster was jaw-dropping, grin ear-to-ear, excitement!
