We’ve reached the quarterfinals of Wimbledon, and we have some excellent matches on our hands. The first two will take place on Tuesday, and I’ve got some ways to make some money off them.
David Goffin (+185) vs. Cam Norrie (-239)
While Goffin’s playing some of the best tennis that we’ve seen him play in three years, I want to remind everyone of two things. First, he’s never been a fantastic player on grass. Second, he probably should have lost both of his last two matches.
Now, I know “probably” doesn’t count for anything here, but the problem is twofold with Goffin. First off, he’s going to be absolutely exhausted from playing a four-setter and five-setter. Second, he was able to come back after donating leads to Ugo Humbert and Frances Tiafoe, two players who are well-known for their inability to close matches without issue.
Goffin’s not going to get away with those drops in level and focus against Norrie. The British No. 1 is a ruthless competitor and will take every inch that the opposition throws his way. He’s come through every match but one in straight sets and handled some pretty great fights in recent matches from Steve Johnson and Tommy Paul.
I think Norrie will win this match pretty easily as Goffin’s energy fades, and I also think he’ll make Goffin beat him with backhand winners coming from the Norrie forehand. I like Cam’s chances in those exchanges, and I simply think while Goffin may take one of the first two sets he doesn’t have enough left in the tank for the fittest man on tour.
Edge: Norrie -3.5

Novak Djokovic (-1000) vs. Jannik Sinner (+575)
Djokovic and Sinner have met once, and that came on Sinner’s preferred surface, the clay. It wasn’t that long ago, either, coming at last year’s Monte Carlo Masters. In that match, Djokovic mopped Sinner.
What do you think is going to happen when Djokovic goes from arguably his weakest surface to his best surface, and Sinner his best surface to the one he has the least amount of experience on? The results could be staggering.
I’m not saying Sinner isn’t playing some of the best tennis of his career, but I think negotiating a set in this one, even, would be difficult. The young Italian is blasting the tennis ball, but Djokovic knows his tendencies and can force him into some bad errors. We’ve seen him do it to Sinner before, and he’ll do it again.
I think the moment will be too big for Sinner, and he’ll hurt himself by going for big winners early.
Edge: Djokovic -6.5
