CB Bushell to transfer from Gators

When Joe Haden decided to leave a season of collegiate eligibility at Florida on the table and make himself available for the April NFL draft, Adrian Bushell was mentioned as one of the prime candidates to replace the All-American cornerback.

Bushell then missed most of spring practice due to academic and off-field issues, significantly hampering any legitimate shot he had of being Haden’s replacement.

Now, after today’s developments, there’s likely no shot at all.

According to GatorBait.net by way of the Orlando Sentinel, Bushell has decided to transfer from the Gators. According to a tweet from Ben Volin of the Palm Beach Post, the school has confirmed the transfer and that Bushell has been released from his scholarship with no restrictions.

There’s also no word on any potential landing spots for the DeSoto, Tex., native.

With Bushell now likely out of the picture, the paper notes that Haden’s replacement opposite Janoris Jenkins will likely come down to a quartet of contenders: senior Moses Jenkins, redshirt sophomore Jeremy Brown and freshmen Jaylen Watkins and Josh Shaw.

(Editor’s note: Oops on the name. Must’ve been thinking about binoculars. Again.)
