Alabama cruised by Florida in the Associated Press poll released earlier today, but the Gators are firmly entrenched in the top spot in the only rankings that -- for better or worse -- really matter.

As expected, the Gators are in the top spot in the initial rankings, followed by the Tide and Texas at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.
Boise State is No. 4, the first of two non-automatic qualifiers in the Top Ten; Texas Christian came in at No. 8.
Cincinnati and Iowa are fifth and sixth, respectively, while Southern Cal is the highest-ranked one-loss team at No. 7.
