Notre Dame has never faced Wake Forest on a college football field. In 2011, that will change.
According to a release issued by the school, the two schools have agreed to a future home-and-home series. The Irish will travel to BB&T Field Nov. 5, 2011, while the Demon Deacons return the favor on Nov. 7, 2015.
“This is an excellent opportunity for our football program to compete against one of the most-storied football programs in the nation,” said Wake Forest Director of Athletics Ron Wellman said in a statement. “Notre Dame has long been recognized for its excellence both academically and athletically and we expect that our fans will thoroughly enjoy having the Fighting Irish come to BB&T Field.”
Wake Forest and Notre Dame had previously agreed to play in South Bend on Nov. 17, 2012. This two-game home-and-home series is separate from the 2012 game.
