Michigan used Hump Day as an opportunity to announce three future games against three different FBS programs.
On Sept. 10, 2016, the Wolverines will take on UCF in the Big House in what will serve as the first-ever meeting between the two football programs. In conjunction with the addition that game, a contest with Ball State, Ball State game, slated for Sept. 24, 2016, will be moved to a to-be-determined- date in the future.
Moving the game against the MAC school will give UM a bye week ahead of what will be the start of the first nine-game Big Ten season.
Additionally, the school announced a Sept. 16, 2017, game against Air Force and a Sept. 15, 2018, matchup with SMU. The Wolverines have faced the former on two previous occasions, the latter just once.
Both of those games will be played in Ann Arbor as well.
