Demovsky reports that Love likes to be in the loop on developments, so there is reason to think progress has been made on an extension. Love was asked if he thinks contract talks will pick up after minicamp and he responded, “Yeah, I think they should.” Last week, Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst told Milwaukee radio station 97.3 The Game that both parties wanted to get a deal done “before training camp for sure”. After leading the Packers to a divisional round game, Love is now poised to earn an extension that puts him amongst the highest-paid in the game. Without an extension, he would make $11 million in 2024, but seeing extensions like Jared Goff’s $53 million per year, Love is poised to reach those numbers soon.

Reed signed a two-year, $10.8 million contract with the Seahawks a last offseason. Henderson reports that the team essentially took $530k from incentives and made it part of the base value of the deal. The salary adjustments seem to give Reed a small contract sweetener and leave him with a deal that retains the same max value, all non-guaranteed. Reed started 16 games for the Seahawks at defensive tackle, totaling seven sacks last season. He now has $370k tied to sack incentives for next season while $530k was taken out and added to Reed’s base salary and in-game bonuses tied to being on the 53-man roster.

The veteran tight who will turn 35 this season, understands the questions about when he’ll hang up the cleats, but says he “really can’t put a timeframe” on it. Kelce also acknowledged the opportunities that he has outside of football, but still enjoys coming to work. While he’s shown slight signs of decline, his chemistry with Patrick Mahomes is unmatched and as long he’s playing, Kelce is a threat. He still has the competitive fire that’ll keep him amongst the top tight ends in football.

Coming off surgery on his elbow after sustaining a season-ending injury last fall, Burrow said it’s hard to estimate how far along he is in his recovery. He assured reporters he’ll be ready for the start of the regular season. That could mean Burrow will be limited and carefully managed by the Bengals this summer. The Bengals’ 2024 prospects hinge entirely on the availability of the oft-injured Burrow, entering his age-27 season. Jake Browning would serve as the team’s starting QB if Burrow misses time again in 2024.

Fresh off signing a massive contract extension with Cleveland, Jeudy was reportedly inside receiving treatment for an unspecified injury during Tuesday’s minicamp. Jeudy, entering his age-25 season, has missed 13 games over four NFL seasons with a range of injuries. His health will be something to monitor as the summer wears on.

It’s a good sign for Watson, whose throwing has been carefully managed by Browns coaches and team doctors during spring practices. He’s recovering from a major 2023 shoulder injury that required surgery and is expected to be ready for Week 1. Any setbacks for Watson this summer would make Jameis Winston the favorite to start under center for Cleveland.

Cooper is in the final year of his contract and is set to earn $23 million in 2024. In search of a new deal before the start of the season, Cooper, who turns 30 later this month, is subject to fines for every day he misses mandatory minicamp.

Rodgers’ absence is unexcused, meaning he is subject to fines for missing the practice. According to Saleh, Rodgers is away for an event that is “important to him.” Rodgers has been practicing with the team all spring, but his absence on Tuesday is surprising and will undoubtedly make for an interesting talking point. It goes without saying that Rodgers will play a vital role in how far the Jets can go in 2024 after a torn Achilles ended his season just four plays into the year. Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas are also banking on a big season from Rodgers, as both appear to be on the hot seat following a disastrous few seasons. With minicamp scheduled to run until Thursday, June 13, it’s possible Rodgers reports before the team heads to summer break.

Much to the surprise of Robert Saleh, who said he expected Reddick to report to minicamp, the star pass rusher has opted to stay away for the time being. Things were obviously trending in this direction after Reddick avoided voluntary OTAs and refused to comment on whether or not he would report to minicamp late last week. The Jets acquired Reddick, who is in search of a new contract, from the Eagles back in April. Since then, we’ve heard little news of any contract negotiations between the two sides, as Reddick appears committed to sitting out until a deal gets done. There has been ample time to get a deal done, as more than two months have passed since the Jets traded for Reddick. We’d assume they have a plan to eventually get Reddick into camp, but what that is remains to be seen.

Ekeler hasn’t returned kicks since 2017 with the Chargers, when he had five returns for 85 yards. It would be surprising if the Commanders used Ekeler as a kick returner as he enters his age-29 season, though the league’s new kickoff rules could lead to teams using more important players on returns in 2024 and beyond. Ekeler’s return usage will be something to monitor in minicamp and during the team’s training camp next month. He’s expected to split backfield duties with Brian Robinson.
