  • NE Running Back #4
Patriots RB Antonio Gibson (hip) was limited in Thursday’s practice.
After being a full participant on Wednesday, Gibson was added to Thursday’s injury report. If he can practice on Friday, he’ll presumably be good to go for Sunday’s game against the Bengals, but he’ll be a risky bet as far as fantasy is concerned. With Rhamondre Stevenson presumably set to handle the majority of touches out of the Patriots’ backfield, Gibson is best left on fantasy benches until we get a better sense of his role in the offense.
  • CIN Tight End #88
Mike Gesicki (calf) was listed as a limited participant for Thursday’s practice.
Gesicki picked up the calf injury late in Sunday’s loss to the Chiefs, but it doesn’t appear that this is anything more then a precautionary measure for the 28-year-old. The 28-year-old has been a big part of the offense thus far and is coming off a 91-yard effort against Kansas City, and while he may not see as much action if Tee Higgins (hamstring) can play, he remains on the TE1 radar.
  • SF Wide Receiver #1
Deebo Samuel (calf) didn’t participate in Thursday’s practice.
As expected, Samuel wasn’t able to practice as he’s likely to miss a few weeks while dealing with his calf strain. The 49ers also didn’t have George Kittle available for Thursday’s session, so it could be a big day for targets for Jauan Jennings during Week 3’s bout against the Eagles.
  • HOU Tight End #9
Aaron Wilson of KPRC in Houston reports that Brevin Jordan suffered a torn Anterior Cruciate Ligament in his knee.
The injury will sideline Jordan for the remainder of the 2024 season. It’s a disappointing development for a player that looked to be on the rise, but now will not be able to play until 2025. Dalton Schultz will remain the starting tight end for the Texans, with Cade Stover — and potentially Irv Smith Jr. — seeing more reps along the way.
  • CIN Wide Receiver #5
Tee Higgins (hamstring) was listed as a limited participant for Thursday’s practice.
It’s not a huge surprise that Higgins wasn’t a full participant in Thursday’s session ahead of a Monday Night Football tilt against the Commanders. The wideout will hopefully be able to get in a full practice before the contest, but it seems more likely than not he’ll make his season debut for that contest against Washington.
  • JAX Running Back #4
Tank Bigsby (shoulder) received a limit designation for Thursday’s practice.
A full practice would have been nice to see, but the limited showing for the 23-year-old still puts him on track to play against the Bills on Monday Night; something coach Doug Pederson told reporters this week that he expects to do. Bigsby will still operate behind Travis Etienne, but his strong play will see him involved and makes him an intriguing FLEX option for Week 3.
  • JAX Tight End #17
Evan Engram (hamstring) did not participate in Thursday’s practice.
Engram was unable to practice, and seems unlikely to be able to play Monday Night against the Bills. With the 30-year-old old seemingly unavailable for that tilt, Evan Strange will see the bulk of snaps in Engram’s absence, and he’s worth consideration after a good showing in Week 2 against the Browns.
  • SF Tight End #85
49ers TE George Kittle (hamstring tightness) was not seen practicing on Thursday.
The report comes from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, who initially said Kittle “was not spotted at practice and is experiencing tightness in his hamstring” before unambiguously stating “With no practice today, his status for Sunday’s game vs. the Rams is in question.” Fantasy managers should make contingency plans for Week 3, as Kittle appears to be truly questionable for the contest.
  • CIN Tight End #83
Bengals HC Zac Taylor told reporters, “We certainly like what we see,” regarding rookie TE Erick All Jr.
Taylor adds, “You can put a lot on his plate.” All notably tied veteran TE Drew Sample for a positional, team-high 33 offensive snaps in Week 2. The rookie is promisingly averaging 1.78 yards per route run while having caught 4-of-4 targets through two weeks. All can be speculatively stashed on deep-league benches, though it could take some time for him to separate.
  • CHI Wide Receiver #15
Bears WR Rome Odunze (knee) was limited in Thursday’s practice.
Odunze’s consecutive LP designations are an upgrade on last week’s DNP, DNP and LP designations. He was on-field for 66-of-70 possible snaps last week so fantasy managers should expect him to suit up once again in Week 3.
  • CHI Wide Receiver #13
Keenan Allen (heel) did not practice Thursday.
This makes back-to-back practices that Allen wasn’t able to participate in after missing Week 2 against the Texans. It seems very likely that the 32-year-old will miss Week 3 against the Colts as well, meaning more targets for Rome Odunze (knee) and snaps for DeAndre Carter and potentially Velus Jones.
