It was another light schedule in the NHL on Monday with only two games.
There was, as always, news from around the NHL so let’s get to it.
Patrick Eaves was hospitalized with a suspected case of Guillain-Barre syndrome which the body’s immune system attacks the peripheral nervous system.
He was in ICU last week before stabilizing and is now in hospital but out of ICU.
We wish him the best in regaining his health and getting back into action.
The Ducks get Ryan Getzlaf and Hampus Lindholm back on Tuesday and that should help.
The Maple Leafs sent Calle Rosen to the minors and put Eric Fehr on waivers after inking Roman Polak to a one-year deal.
Look for Marc-Andre Fleury to return to practice next week as he recovers from a concussion.

TORONTO 3 LOS ANGELES 2
The Los Angeles Kings lost for the first time this season in regulation play as they lost 3-2 to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Frederik Andersen was stellar in goal for the Maple Leafs as he stopped 36 shots to push his record to 6-2. His peripherals are weak with a 3.24 GAA and a.900 save percentage but that is more of all-round team play as Toronto does like to free-wheel.
The Leafs opened the scoring from an unlikely source as Matt Martin, known more for his tough play, scored his first of the season.
Tyler Bozak made it 2-0 in the second as he scored just eight seconds after Derek Forbort got whistled for holding William Nylander.
But the Kings cut the lead in half less than a minute later when Adrian Kempe scored his fourth of the season. Kempe scored only twice last season in 25 games but he had a hat trick against Montreal Wednesday. It looks like he loves scoring against the Canadian teams this season.
Patrick Marleau scored the eventual game winner in the third. It was the 512th goal of his career and he is tied for 40th with Gilbert Perreault, one behind Jeremy Roenick.
Trevor Lewis made it close with a breakaway shorthanded effort. It was his second point of the game.
Jonathan Quick took his first loss of the season making 30 saves. He was replaced by Darcy Kuemper for 36 seconds when it was ruled that he had to go see a doctor to check for a possible concussion after he was hit in the head. He was obviously okay.
Leo Komarov had seven hits in the game while William Nylander had seven shots on goal.
SAN JOSE 4 NEW YORK RANGERS 1
The San Jose Sharks went into Madison Square Garden and got a 33 save performance from Martin Jones as they upended the Rangers 4-1.
Jones stymied the Rangers at every opportunity as only Mika Zibanejad with his sixth of the season, was able to beat the Sharks netminder. It was a case of too little, too late as that was as close as the Rangers got in the third stanza.
Logan Couture continued his hot start with his seventh of the season as well as adding an assist in the win.
Tim Heed scored his first NHL goal. If you are in a deep pool, take Heed as he had 55 points in 56 AHL games last season and is now playing the point with Brent Burns on the first power play.
Joonas Donskoi and Melker Karlsson finished the scoring for the Sharks. Joe Thornton picked up an assist on Donskoi’s goal and moved into a tie for 20th place all-time in NHL scoring with Jari Kurri at 1,398 points.
Henrik Lundqvist stopped 20-of-24 pucks.
The Rangers had 10 shots on goal during six power play attempts. They did not score.
