Mike Anderson’s 21-carry performance Saturday night may have been a showcase for a possible trade to the Dolphins.
It’s merely speculation at this point, but it makes sense. The Broncos have a glut of capable runners and Miami needs a between=the-tackles presence.
  • BAL Running Back
Mike Anderson will likely miss at least two months with a pulled groin injury.
The team will wait for Anderson to see a specialist to determine whether he’ll need surgery. If so, he’ll miss the entire season. Garrison Hearst and rookie Tatum Bell each move up the depth chart.
  • BAL Running Back
Mike Anderson continues to be the subject of trade rumors.
Anderson is not sure if he will get major playing time tonight, but said if he doesn’t, he won’t necessarily read anything into it.
  • BAL Running Back
Mike Anderson carried the ball 21 times for 120 yards vs. Seattle’s reserves Saturday night.
Anderson is staking his claim to the backup role behidn Quentin Griffin. His success is bad news for the fantasy value of Tatum Bell and Garrison Hearst.
  • BAL Running Back
The Broncos are likely to work out a deal to keep Mike Anderson on the team next season.
He would be a reserve running back and special teams player. Anderson could also excel in goal-line situations.
  • BAL Running Back
Denver coach Mike Shanahan will give running back Mike Anderson a chance at tailback again next season.
Anderson isn’t likely to get many carries. He’s too valuable as a blocker and the Broncos should have other options.
  • BAL Running Back
Mike Anderson rushed six times for 12 yards Saturday.
Anderson was used on the goal-line once, getting stuffed. Tatum Bell fared no better in his time on the field.
  • BAL Running Back
Mike Anderson may not hold off Tatum Bell for the Broncos’ starting running back job, but he is expected to get plenty of action in the red zone.
''Mike is a big, strong guy, and he’s good near the goal line,’' coach Mike Shanahan said. ''We missed that last year. He gives us that option.’'
  • BAL Running Back
The Denver Post reports that, if everyone’s healthy, Mike Anderson will be Denver’s starting tailback in week one.
Regarding Anderson’s age, the Post writes, ''Attention fantasy-leaguers: This is no professional courtesy to seniority.’' Tatum Bell has reportedly not proven he can gain the tough yards. We’re skeptical that Anderson can keep the job throughout the season, but this obviously boosts his Draft stock. He’s worth grabbing in the first 75 picks, but we’d pair him with Bell. They will both be high risk/high reward selections.
  • BAL Running Back
Mike Anderson rushed five times for 39 yards and caught a touchdown pass in week two of the preseason.
He only played one and half series. Tatum Bell also played well, but the job is Anderson’s to lose.
