Two-time Olympic hockey gold medalist Kendall Coyne Schofield announced she is pregnant with her second child.
Coyne Schofield had son Drew on July 1, 2023 — after playing with the national team three months into her pregnancy — then came back to make World Championship teams in 2024 and 2025 and her fourth Olympic team in 2026.
She became the second mom to make a U.S. Olympic hockey team after Jenny Potter, who did so in 2002, 2006 and 2010, and the first to win a gold medal.
Coyne Schofield was the captain of the 2022 Olympic team.
The next World Championship tournament is Nov. 6-16 in Denmark.
Coyne Schofield was among the invitees to a national team training camp this week. She was a scratch from Wednesday night’s game against Canada.
John Wroblewski, who coached the U.S. to gold in Milan, signed up for another four years.
