Olympic gold medalists join Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade lineup

U.S. Olympic and Paralympic champions scatter the lineup of the 90th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York.

The group includes gymnast Laurie Hernandez, shot putter Michelle Carter and boxer Claressa Shields, plus Paralympic runners Mikey Brannigan and Gianfranco Iannotta.

Three-time Canadian Olympic hockey player Eric Lindros is also slated for the procession.

In 2012, the Fierce Five took part in the parade. In 1993, the 1996 Atlanta Olympic mascot Izzy was a float.

NBC will host Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade coverage on Nov. 24 from 9 a.m.-noon across all time zones.
