——- Alisson ——

—— Szoboszlai —- Mac Allister ——
—— Munoz —- Wirtz —- Ngumoha ——
——- Barcola ——-
There are a couple of big injury problems for Iraola to figure out. First up, Jeremy Jacquet suffered a hamstring issue while on international duty with France but the latest update is positive and it seems like he’s good to go. Ronald Araujo will continue at right back and he has given Liverpool much better defensive balance. Midfield balance is an issue but Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister have been the go-to starters in recent weeks. And ahead of them Florian Wirtz had a really positive international break and will start. But both Cody Gakpo and Alexander Isak suffered injuries while on international duty and aren’t ready. That is a huge blow given their form early in the season. Youngster Rio Ngumoha and Victor Munoz will likely come in for them, with Munoz on the right and Ngumoha on the left. Szoboszlai could also start on the right with Ryan Gravenberch coming into central midfield. But who will play up top centrally with Isak and Gakpo out? Bradley Barcola is likely to play there out of position, and this is a huge moment for him to become a Liverpool hero.
Manchester City predicted lineup, team news, analysis
——- Donnarumma ——-
—— Nunes —— Dias —— Guehi —— Gvardiol ——
—— Fernandez —— Anderson ——
—— Ndiaye —— Cherki —— Semenyo ——
——- Haaland ——-
City’s back four basically picks itself with the likes of Nico O’Reilly and Rayan Ait-Nouri options at left back, but this season O’Reilly has played much more in his natural central midfield position although the England international is an injury doubt for this game. New signings Elliot Anderson and Enzo Fernandez have been superb in midfield, with fellow new signing Ayyoub Bouaddi having to be patient for minutes. But this high-tempo game could suit him and he could start alongside Anderson to provide more defensive balance, with Fernandez pushing forward to play as a No. 10. The main injury concerns for City are over their two most impactful attackers: Antoine Semenyo and Erling Haaland. Both suffered issues during the international break. But Haaland looks to be fit to start and that’s great news for City as they have no real alternative up top. If Semenyo isn’t fully fit then he probably won’t be risked at all, especially as Jeremy Doku has just returned to fitness and is itching to start on the left.
