  • NE Wide Receiver #1

Schefter added Brown will miss four to six weeks with the high ankle sprain he sustained on Wednesday night against the Seahawks. It could be much longer than that before Brown is back to full health and operating as the Patriots’ alpha WR1. For now, Mack Hollins will slide into three-receiver sets and Romeo Doubs — who didn’t catch any of his three targets against Seattle — will likely function as Drake Maye’s top option. Demario Douglas could be an interesting add in deeper formats after leading the team with seven targets in Week 1.
  • CHI Wide Receiver #15
Odunze missed some practice time this week with the calf issue and was considered questionable headed into the weekend. He could see his snaps and routes limited if the calf is still bothering him. Odunze should be considered a high-variance flex option with a frightening floor against the Panthers. Bears declared QB Tyson Bagent, QB Miller Moss, S Xavier Woods, OT Ozzy Trapilo, DE Jamree Kromah, and OL Jordan McFadden inactive for the team’s season opener.
  • LA Outside Linebacker #95
According to Pelissero, Garrett had been dealing with lower leg pain and “wasn’t himself” in Week 1 against the 49ers. Garrett was routinely taken off the field and failed to record a single stat in the contest. Per Pelissero, the team hopes he will miss only a minimum of four weeks while on injured reserve. The impending return of Aaron Donald should help ease the loss of Garrett, but this is undoubtedly a massive blow to the Rams’ defense.
  • NYG Wide Receiver #1
According to Schefter, the Giants still haven’t gotten clarity from Nabers, who is working his way back from the torn ACL he suffered early in the 2025 season. The Giants elevated two receivers from their practice squad to the active roster over the weekend, signaling that they think there’s a chance Nabers sits. If he does, Malachi Fields, Odell Beckham, and Darnell Mooney would be their starting receiver trio. We can’t recommend any of them in fantasy, even if Nabers is ruled out.
  • LV Tight End #89
Bowers underwent a meniscus trim on Tuesday after getting banged up in training camp. It would be a surprisingly quick turnaround for Bowers, especially after he dealt with knee issues throughout the 2025 season. As long as it doesn’t affect his play, fantasy managers will be thrilled to get their superstar tight end back after just one week. In the meantime, Michael Mayer will start in his place. Mayer profiles as a mid-range TE2 for Week 1 versus the Dolphins.
  • ATL Quarterback #9
Tua Tagovailoa is out with a back issue for Week 1, and Cooper Rush is dealing with back problems of his own, though he will attempt to play through them. Tua’s timeline to return is unknown. Already down to their third-string quarterback, the Falcons desperately need Penix back. He practiced in full this week, meaning that a return in Week 2 looks likely. All Atlanta pass-catchers will get a boost once Penix takes over.
  • SF Wide Receiver #7
Stribling suffered a deltoid sprain in his ankle. He is not expected to undergo surgery at this time, though Rapoport notes it is still a possibility. The fact that Rapoport noted that Stribling is “still seeking opinions” suggests surgery is very much on the table. With the rookie sidelined, Demarcus Robinson will slide into the three-receiver rotation. He scored a long touchdown versus the Rams in Week 1, though he profiles as a boom/bust WR6 going forward. Mike Evans and Deebo Samuel will see the majority of targets in most weeks.
  • ARI Running Back #4
Love was limited in practice throughout the week. Head coach Mike LaFleur, however, said he would have no limitations in practice as early as Wednesday, so the limited designation is likely a technicality. He was listed as questionable at the end of the week and LaFleur called him a game-time decision. Love has been trending in the right direction for a while and should be good to go when the Cardinals release their inactives. He will likely split work with Tyler Allgeier, keeping him in the RB2 ranks for his NFL debut.
  • BAL Quarterback #8
Jackson and the Ravens engaged in contract talks throughout the offseason but never got the deal across the finish line. Jackson doesn’t have an agent, meaning he represents himself in contract negotiations. The added time and stress of that likely means neither side wants to continue contract discussions in the midst of the regular season. Jackson is under contract through the 2027 season, giving the team one more offseason to get him locked down long-term.
  • HOU Quarterback #7
The two sides worked diligently to get a deal done before the start of the regular season but will now pause discussions until after the year. Stroud was reportedly offered a substantial deal earlier in the offseason but turned it down, now forced to “bet on himself” as he plays out the final year of his rookie deal, minus the fifth-year option. Stroud has been unable to rekindle his rookie year magic while playing under two different offensive coordinators, something he’s looking to remedy in his second season under Nick Caley.
