As long as Brian Daboll has a job to save in 2025, we can expect the Giants to exhaust any and all options at quarterback if the price is right. Despite the team signing Winston to a two-year deal worth up to $16 million last week, Wilson continues to be a potential option for Big Blue. According to Florio, his source also said the Giants “technically remain in the mix for Aaron Rodgers,” while adding the future HOFer is unlikely to join the team. Wilson has met with the Browns and Giants this offseason and could still wind up returning to the Steelers. That said, the Steelers seem to be waiting on Rodgers, the Giants do have Winston in place, and the Browns are holding the No. 2 overall pick in next month’s draft. We’ll likely know Wilson’s landing spot before the start of camp, but it’s possible the team’s most interested in him will wait to see how the draft plays out before committing to him.
  • NYG Quarterback #5
Although the Giants are undoubtedly tired of waiting on fellow free agent Aaron Rodgers, this hardly precludes his signing. Winston’s deal is modest even for a backup, especially one with his box scores and experience. He’s a seat warmer/emergency option for a team that had only Tommy DeVito under contract at the most important position. The question now becomes if he will be a clipboard holder or bridge option. It will be the former if Rodgers comes board. The latter if the G-Men take a Day 1 rookie QB. Our money is on the latter, as it’s unlikely the Giants would want a quarterback room with a pair of players on the wrong side of 30. Now 31, Winston proved last season he’s an old dog who won’t be learning any tricks. He slings it all over the yard, interceptions and all. He’s an “any given Sunday” No. 2 option, but a poor bet as a multi-month starter.
  • NO Wide Receiver #3
Cooks re-joins the franchise that made him the No. 20 overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft. Now 31, Cooks isn’t the explosive player he once was, and he’s coming off a season in which he posted career lows in catches (26), receiving yards (259), and YPR (10.0). Granted, he was limited to just 10 games last season, but it’s no secret that Cooks is on the back nine of his career. With Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed presumably locked in as the Saints’ top two receivers, Cooks’ role should be that of a WR3/WR4 in Kellen Moore’s offense next season. Outside of a dart throw in deeper leagues, it’s hard to imagine Cooks having much fantasy utility at this stage of his career.
  • FA Quarterback #8
Unless he’s personally inviting Arthur Smith on a darkness retreat, an impending deal is the next most logical guess. If Rodgers wants to play for a contender next season, it doesn’t take much to realize the Steelers are the best option as things stand right now. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported after Dulac’s initial report that “no deal at this time is close,” while noting that Rodgers did meet with the coaching staff. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero also reports Rodgers is “seriously considering playing his 21st season in Pittsburgh.” With several reports flying around and nothing appearing guaranteed at this point, it goes without saying that this is a wait-and-see situation. As usual.
  • FA Wide Receiver #1
According to Schultz, the visit between Diggs and the Patriots “was more of a ‘get to know you’ and ‘where you’re at medically’ type of meeting.” Diggs is still recovering from a torn ACL he suffered in Week 8 last season but had a line of 47-496-3 before his injury. He’ll turn 32 midway through next season, but assuming he’s healthy, Diggs would be an immediate upgrade for a Patriots offense that’s short on talent at receiver. He was fantasy’s eighth highest scoring wideout before his season-ending 2024 injury.
  • Quarterback
Speaking on the 40s and Free Agents podcast, Daniel Jeremiah said that a source told him “the Giants had a presence at every single Colorado game this year.”
Reports have consistently indicated that the Giants hope to add a rookie quarterback prospect, as well as a veteran, this offseason. Jeremiah’s source tells him that the Giants were “following Shedeur Sanders around the entire season,” suggesting Sanders is high on their internal board. The Giants currently sit at No. 3 overall in the 2025 NFL draft, but a trade-up to the No. 1 or No. 2 spot is still possible.
  • CLE Guard #76
The terms aren’t yet known, but Jenkins brings three years of starting experience to the Browns. Despite the Bears’ decision to move on from him, Jenkins has graded out as one of the top-15 guards in the league in each of the last two seasons, per PFF, and has allowed 17 or fewer pressures in every season he’s played in. Cleveland wouldn’t seem to have an obvious starting spot for Jenkins, whose market appears to have been weaker than expected because of his lengthy injury history.
  • HOU Wide Receiver #1
Diggs is in Foxborough to meet with the Patriots, who could use help at wide receiver. Prior to tearing his ACL in Week 8, Diggs caught 47 passes for 497 yards and three touchdowns for the Texans. The 31-year-old was a Pro-Bowler and 1,000-yard receiver all four seasons with the Bills prior to being dealt to the Texans. He has had a dry free agency market thus far as he heads into his age-32 season with uncertainty around his health for Week 1. The Patriots have missed out on Chris Godwin and others at the wide receiver position this offseason. Adding Diggs would give Drake Maye a reliable target, even if it takes a few games for Diggs to return and get into rhythm with the offense.
  • HOU Defensive End #55
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports Hunter is now the NFL’s second-highest paid defensive end and will make $32 million this season, a $12.5 million bump from his previous contract. His deal becomes a two-year, $55.1 million agreement with $54.1 million guaranteed. Hunter initially signed a two-year deal with the Texans last offseason and now gets one more season in Houston with a pay bump after tallying 12 sacks and a Pro Bowl in 2024. With Will Anderson opposite Hunter, the Texans keep a menacing pass rush through 2026. This sets another price point in an expensive edge market with pass rushers like Trey Hendrickson and Micah Parsons next to cash in.
  • PHI Quarterback #1
It’s one of a few rules tweaks proposed by teams for the 2025 season, and it comes after Green Bay’s defense was totally unable to stop the Eagles’ use of the tush push in their postseason loss to Philadelphia in January. The tush push — a play in which the QB is pushed from behind by a teammate to convert a short yardage play — has proven nearly unstoppable for Jalen Hurts and the Eagles offense. The combination of an elite offensive line and Hurts’ unmatched lower body strength has made the tush push a cheat code for the Eagles over the past few seasons. Some teams with far less powerful quarterbacks — including the Packers — have used tight ends to run the tush push. The Eagles in 2024 converted 71 percent of their fourth down attempts, the fourth highest rate in the NFL.
