Returning to competition “was a little scary, not going to lie,” Karen Chen told reporters after her short program. “It was definitely something new to me.”
A concussion kept Jason Brown out of his planned season debut in Germany, where he wanted to debut his “Schindler’s List” free skate, but instead, he’s healthy and unveiling the program at Skate America.
“It’s a judged sport and the way the audience reacts to the program has some influence on how the judges interpret your performance,” says Nathan Chen.
