By DAVID MARR III 10/1/06 -- My favorite memories in this game often involve my father in some way. My recollections of and stories about Byron Nelson are no exception.
11/15/04 -- In three brief years the UBS Cup has become a celebration set in an international team competition. It is a festival of personalities and golf skills that have withstood lifes maddening balance.
9/12/02 -- During a practice round at this year’s PGA Championship, I met a gentleman inside the ropes who introduced himself to me as Ken Rose, Justin’s father. I soon got a clear understanding of how Justin became such a fine young man after chatting with his dad.
8/1/02 -- I’ve been to about 40 USGA Championships, mainly U.S. Opens, some Women’s Opens, a few Senior Opens and a couple of U.S. Amateurs. I don’t think I’ve ever had an experience quite like this past week in New Jersey.
7/22/02 -- I define winners and champions at the game’s highest levels very simply. To be a winner, a player must win on a major tour; to be a champion, a player must win a major championship.
6/24/02 -- Often, when I get a spare moment, I log on to thegolfchannel.com discussion boards to see what people are saying, or thinking, or just to steal a good line or two. About six months ago I saw a thread title that I thought was interesting.
