EPL Betting Preview: Everton

Up the Toffees has been blaring from the lungs of Everton supporters since their team fought off late-season relegation. Relegation would’ve been hard for the longest-tenured Premier League team. Not only would they have spat in the face of history, but they would’ve surely missed the monetary benefits of playing in the EPL. Benefits that certainly could be used towards the new stadium that is under construction. Everton must now regroup and fight not only to stay up this season but fight for European qualification.

Here is a breakdown of Everton’s preseason betting odds on PointsBet Sportsbook:

Everton Odds to Win Premier League +35000

This is such an excellent price for the Toffees. You must be insane to think they have a realistic chance to win. Losing Richarlison will go down to be a significant loss for the Toffees. Good for him; Tottenham seem to have a much higher floor and ceiling than Everton. It’s hard to think there is a team outside Manchester City in the EPL who will win. Everton lack the talent and quality to put up a serious effort. Please save your money here or consider putting it on them to finish in the bottom half.

Everton Odds to Finish Top-4 +3300

Much like their title odds, this is a stay away from me. I could name 10 teams I would bet to finish top 10 over Everton. Save your money on this one.

Everton Odds to be Relegated +450

My eyes went to this number instantly, especially after they flirted with relegation. However, with big wins against Manchester United and Chelsea, they escaped what would’ve been considered a major embarrassment. There’s a possibility they relegated with Frank Lampard as their manager. He’s not a quality manager, and his play style leaves them venerable. Maybe he sees an improvement as a manager this year.

Another question is whether their summer transfer window has gone the way the fans wanted. It’s always the supporters who think improvement comes from the transfer window. Whether the fans like it or now, it doesn’t look like Everton are spending. They will have to make do with what they have and without Richarlison.

Everton should be safe from relegation. They certainly are on the list of teams who could be relegated. Still, these are the main clubs I think are in grave danger of being relegated: Southampton, Bournemouth, Fulham, and Nottingham Forest. I would avoid a bet on Everton to be relegated unless they win early and you get massive odds. Then you pray they deal with an injury bug and poor form.

Player to win the Golden Boot | Dominic Calvert-Lewin +4000

This is an interesting bet because there is no Richarlison to share goals with. If DCL is healthy, he should take the spot kicks as well. After only notching five goals last season, one would think DCL is ready for a monster season. The problem his golden boot backers face is that he’s never had a season with more than 21 goals in total and 16 in the Premier League. Only playing 17 games last season, his production was hindered. Whether he was facing injury or lack of fitness, he wasn’t a mainstay in the starting XI. Some of that could be why he has openly requested an offseason transfer. He won’t be the goal funnel at his next club if he moves. Your best bet is DCL at Everton and him being motivated to be the star of Everton.
