Texans signed T Cole Toner, formerly of the Chargers, to a one-year contract.

Drafted by Arizona with the No. 170 overall pick of the 2016 NFL draft, Toner spent his past three seasons with the Chargers. Last year, he played in 10 games, starting three games for LA. Toner will join a Houston offensive line graded by Pro Football Focus as the eighth best pass blocking unit and the sixth worst run blocking unit in the NFL last year.

Cardinals selected Harvard OT Cole Toner with the No. 170 overall pick of the 2016 NFL draft.

Toner (6'5/306) was a two-year starter for the Crimson, earning first-team FCS All-America as a senior and first-team All-Ivy League in each of his final two seasons. Moderately athletic with the arm length of a guard (33 1/8"), Toner is making a big jump in competition with very average traits and lacking the drive-blocking ability of a pro right tackle. Toner will need to show multi-position versatility to carve out an NFL career.
