Kentucky coach John Calipari gave the “Riders up!” call at the Kentucky Derby earlier this month, and now South Carolina coach Frank Martin is making an appearance at Pimlico for the Preakness Stakes, he tweeted Saturday afternoon.

There must be something about horse racing that college coaches enjoy.

Martin left Kansas State to fill the vacancy at South Carolina this spring, after leading the Wildcats to a 22-11 overall record in 2011-12 and a trip to the NCAA tournament.

NBC will be broadcasting the Preakness Stakes, beginning at 4:30 p.m. on the NBC Sports Network. I’ll Have Another won the first leg of the Triple Crown, the Kentucky Derby, and a favorite, Bodemeister, is out for another run.

The race can also be live-streamed on NBCSports.com, also beginning at 4:30 p.m.
