Porter (5'11/185) has a rich NFL family lineage, as his father, Daryl Sr., played eight seasons in the league while his cousin is former Washington standout Santana Moss. A three-star recruit, Porter was rated as the 77th cornerback in the 2019 prep class according to 247Sports and played for Patrick Surtain Sr. at American Heritage HS in Florida. He started every game this season for the Mountaineers, recording 716 snaps and earning a commendable 71.7 defensive grade from PFF. Porter was offered scholarships from Penn State, Miami, Maryland and BC during his initial recruitment, and could opt to revisit those institutions to gauge interest now that he is in the portal.
