Patriots declared WR Efton Chism, CB Kobee Minor, OLB Bradyn Swinson, OT Marcus Bryant, G Caedan Wallace, TE C.J. Dippre and QB Tommy DeVito inactive for Super Bowl LX against the Seahawks.
Chism, an undrafted free agent rookie, was active in the Divisional Round and Wild Card Round but did not play in the AFC Championship Game. He caught 3-of-3 targets for 75 yards and one touchdown in the regular season and caught his lone postseason target for a 20-yard gain. DeVito will serve as the Patriots’ emergency third quarterback today.
  • NE Quarterback #10
Drake Maye completed 17-of-29 targets for 268 yards, one touchdown, one interception and lost one fumble in the Patriots’ 16-3, Wild Card win over the Chargers, rushing 10 times for 66 yards.
Maye led the team in rushing, but he got the most out of RB Rhamondre Stevenson, efficiently linking up with him three times via the passing game for 75 yards. Maye was nearly on the receiving end of an explosive pass play, but rookie WR Efton Chism overthrew him, wide open, running down the right sideline. Chism made up for it with a 20-yard reception. Maye’s 37-yard scramble on the Patriots’ final drive before halftime was the longest rush of the game. He connected with TE Hunter Henry for a 28-yard, third-quarter touchdown against Chargers S Derwin James. The Patriots face the winner of the Texans-Steelers game tomorrow night. Maye’s elite fantasy upside remains intact no matter the opponent, though the Steelers field a far more fantasy-friendly defense than the Texans.
  • NE Wide Receiver #86
Efton Chism caught both of his targets for 40 yards and a touchdown in the Patriots’ Week 17 win over the Jets.
Chism hasn’t played much this year after surprisingly making the Pats’ roster after a strong training camp. New England was without Kayshon Boutte and Mack Hollins this week, giving Chism an opening. He took the opportunity and ran with it, pulling in his first grab of the day for 30 yards and his second for a 10-yard score. Boutte should be back next week, meaning Chism isn’t guaranteed a spot on the gameday roster for Week 18. Still, his Week 17 spike should earn him more playing time in the long run.
  • NE Wide Receiver #3
Patriots coach Mike Vrabel said DeMario Douglas (hamstring) is questionable for New England’s Week 17 game against the Jets.
If Douglas doesn’t play, New England’s only three healthy wideouts on the roster will be Stefon Diggs, Kyle Williams, and Efton Chism. Chism would fit best in the slot, so he may get a chance to have a moment against the Jets if Douglas is ruled out.
  • NE Wide Receiver #86
Patriots declared QB Tommy DeVito, LB Robert Spillane, OT Marcus Bryant, TE CJ Dippre, and WR Efton Chism inactive for Week 16 against the Ravens.
All of Carlton Davis, Marcus Jones, Harold Landry, and Christian Barmore are active for the Patriots after coming into the weekend listed as questionable. Tommy DeVito will continue to serve as the emergency quarterback.
  • NE Wide Receiver #86
Patriots declared WR/KR Efton Chism III, OLB Bradyn Swinson, TE C.J. Dippre, OT Marcus Bryant, DT Eric Gregory, and QB Tommy DeVito inactive for Week 15 against the Bills.
No real surprises here. The Patriots come into this game relatively healthy, except for defensive tackle Milton Williams being on the IR.
  • NE Wide Receiver #86
Patriots declared WR/KR Efton Chism III, TE C.J. Dippre, DT Joshua Farmer, G Caedan Wallace, QB Tommy DeVito, and LB Jahlani Tavai inactive for Week 12 against the Bengals.
No huge surprises here; however, with Chism out for the game, the Patriots may turn to TreVeyon Henderson or Terrell Jennings to return kicks
  • NE Wide Receiver #86
Patriots declared OLB K’Lavon Chaisson, DT Eric Gregory, G Caedan Wallace, WR Efton Chism, and QB Tommy DeVito inactive for Week 5 against the Bills.
Chaisson is the only real surprise here as the Patriots enter Week 5 as one of the healthier teams in the league. They’ll need all 53 playing a near spotless game to knock off the Bills on the road and close the gap atop the AFC East.
  • NE Wide Receiver #86
Patriots declared WR Efton Chism, CB Christian Gonzalez, DT Eric Gregory, OL Caedan Wallace, LB Elijah Ponder, and QB Tommy DeVito inactive for Week 3 against the Steelers.
Gonzalez was ruled out earlier this week after getting in three limited practices. He appears to be nearing a return but will need a full practice before getting the green light. Chism showed well in training camp and made the Pats’ roster as a UDFA. He will get his chance on Sunday at some point.
  • NE Wide Receiver #86
Patriots declared WR Efton Chism, CB Christian Gonzalez, DT Eric Gregory, EDGE Keion White, OG Caedan Wallace, QB Tommy DeVito inactive for Week 2 against the Dolphins.
Chism was dealing with a knee injury and was ruled out for Week 1 with what was technically a healthy scratch. Though he was not listed on the injury report for Week 2, he is again a healthy scratch against the Dolphins. Gonzalez (hamstring) was ruled out earlier this week while White (illness) did not practice this week. Their absences will create a softer Pats defense for a Dolphins offense that struggled last week.
