Hardison (6'3/205) played a relatively normal game for the Miners today, as it lined up with the rest of the season. He hasn’t been consistent this season, but when he does complete passes, they are for large chunks of yardage. His one touchdown pass came from only one yard out, but he hit passes of 53 and 41 yards to set the Miners up on scoring drives. On the season, Hardison threw for 3,218 yards, 18 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions.

Hardison (6'3/205) and the Miners didn’t have an answers for UAB in the second half, as the Blazers outscored them 24-8 in the second half, after trailing 17-14 at halftime. Hardison’s lone touchdown pass on the day came on a 30-yard pass to wide receiver Jacob Cowing to cut UAB’s lead to a field goal late in the third quarter, but that would be the last time UTEP would get in the end zone on the afternoon. UTEP closes its season with a 7-5 record, but has won just one of its last five games. They are bowl eligible, but are limping to the finish line. A few weeks off could pay dividends for the Miners ahead of bowl season.

UTEP redshirt sophomore QB Gavin Hardison completed 23-of-35 passes for 366 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception in a 38-28 win over Rice on Saturday afternoon.
Hardison (6'3/205) was feeling it all game against the Owls. He and WR Jacob Cowing had a connection all game, as they connected on a couple long passes down the sidelines and had a few that they should have completed. What was most impressive about Hardison all game is his poise in the pocket. He didn’t let the Owls pass rush affect him and stayed calm, delivering confident passes all game. Consistency hasn’t been there all season for Hardison, but a strong game next Saturday against UAB will give the Miners a solid foundation to build upon next season.

Hardison (6'3/205) wasn’t anything special in this game. He was relying more on shorter passes as North Texas put a lot of pressure on him. He did have one explosive play when threw the deep pass to Jacob Cowing, finding him stride for the 76-yard touchdown to put the Miners up 7-0 in the second quarter. This was a bright spot in a not-so-good performance. He made a big mistake in the third quarter as he threw into double coverage as it was easily picked off. The Mean Green defense was able to do their part as they would kick a game-winning field goal. UTEP (6-4, C-USA 3-3) will host Rice next Saturday.

Hardison (6'3/205) and the Miners fell behind early, and were just never able to get on track against the high-octane Roadrunners in this huge C-USA West Division game. UTEP had a chance to tie UTSA atop the division standings, but this game was never really in doubt. To make matters worse, Hardison saw leading WR Jacob Cowing leave in the third quarter with a shoulder injury. UTEP will look to bounce back next week on the road against North Texas.

Now that they’re eligible for a bowl, they have to work on winning one. The Miners are 0-6 in their past six postseason trips, last winning a bowl in 1967. Hardison hasn’t tossed a touchdown in the past two games, while turning it over twice, but the Miners have won four in a row. He’s the man under center for HC Dana Dimel.
