Chargers activated DB Elijah Molden (leg) from the active/physically unable to perform list.
Molden had a meniscus fully repaired this offseason while also rehabbing a fibula fracture suffered in Week 17. The meniscus injury occurred in Week 15, and he missed just one game. Molden is expected to play a multi-faceted role in the Chargers’ secondary after signing a three-year, $18.75 million contract in February. The talented coverage defender can be used as a free safety, strong safety and slot cornerback. The Chargers also activated WR Jaylen Johnson from the active/physically unable to perform list.

Chargers placed WR Mike Williams on the PUP list.
Players placed on the PUP list ahead of camp can come off at any time. Williams was dealing with an unspecified injury before the start of camp and was believed to be on track toward playing once camp kicked off. Clearly needing more time to recover, Williams will join WR Jaylen Johnson, S Elijah Molden, LB Del’Shawn Phillips, and OT Savion Washington on the PUP list as they continue to ready themselves for camp.
  • FA Wide Receiver #39
Former Georgia junior WR Jaylen Johnson will transfer to East Carolina.
Johnson in his three seasons with the Bulldogs was not involved much in the offense by collecting just five catches for 49 yards. Moving down to the G5 could give him more opportunities and his six-foot-two frame gives him an excellent size to contribute.

  • FA Wide Receiver #39
Georgia junior WR Jaylen Johnson has entered the transfer portal.
Fresh off a national championship win over Alabama, Johnson (6'2/192) has entered into the transfer portal following three seasons with the Bulldogs. During his time at Georgia, Johnson caught five passes for 49 yards and no touchdowns on 14 targets. Johnson was a walk on prospect from the 2018 class and hung around for four seasons with the program, working his way up to eventually serving as a reserve wide receiver and a member of the team’s special teams unit.
