Loston

Loston (6-foot 5/8, 217) made 24 starts for Les Miles’ Tigers, earning second-team All-SEC as both a junior and senior. He recorded seven career interceptions and eight tackles for loss. An excellent college player but limited athlete, Loston managed a 4.65 forty at the Combine with a 32 1/2-inch vertical and 9-foot-11 broad jump. Range restrictions will pigeonhole Loston as a box safety and special teamer, but he could be quite good in those roles as a James Ihedigbo-type player.

With Johnathan Cyprien out, the Jaguars needed extra bodies in the secondary. Loston will serve as the fourth safety if active.

The move opens a spot for WR Kerry Taylor on the active roster. Loston should be re-signed to the practice squad if he clears waivers.
