Giants declared TE Theo Johnson, WR Jalin Hyatt, RB Dante Miller, CB Cor’Dale Flott, OLB Caleb Murphy, DL Rakeem Nuñez-Roches and QB Russell Wilson inactive for Week 17 against the Raiders.
The Giants threw the ball 13 times in a losing effort against the Vikings last week, so even if Johnson were to play today, his target volume would be difficult to project. His absence gives No. 2 TE Daniel Bellinger a chance to operate as a full-time player, though, putting him on the touchdown-dependent TE1 radar.
  • FA Running Back #25
    Giants waived RB Dante Miller.
The UDFA impressed Giants media this summer but is already 25 years old. The Giants’ thin backfield could at least ensure Miller gets a look on the practice squad.
  • NYG Running Back #25
Former Columbia RB Dante Miller will transfer to South Carolina.
Miller (5’9”/185) was one of the premiere running backs in the Ivy League as he led the conference in rushing yards (838) in 2021. He’ll be moving over to Gamecocks who are in a transition period in the backfield as ZaQuandre White and Kevin Harris are gone, but they’ve already added Christian Beal-Smith and Lovasea Carroll from the portal. Nicknamed “Lil’ Turbo” Miller has been hand-times at a 4.3 40-yard dash, and hopefully he’ll transition that to the SEC.
