    Browns waived TE Connor Hamlett.
Hamlett was a puff-piece star this offseason, but didn’t show enough in camp to crack the rebuilding Browns’ 53-man roster. A second-year UDFA, he’s probably ticketed for the practice squad.

According to the Akron Beacon-Journal’s Nate Ulrich, Browns second-year UDFA Connor Hamlett had a “stellar spring” and has been “among the most pleasant surprises” at camp.
Ulrich believes Hamlett is in the driver’s seat early for the Browns’ No. 2 tight end job behind Gary Barnidge. Coach Hue Jackson is expected to use plenty of two-tight end sets in what will likely try to be a run-oriented, ball-control offense. Hamlett stands a mountainous 6'7/259. He was signed as an UDFA by the Jaguars last year, but ended the season on the Browns’ practice squad.

Cowboys signed TE Connor Hamlett, CB Jeremiah McKinnon, CB Duke Thomas, LS Zach Wood, RB Rod Smith, DB Jameill Showers, CB Sammy Seamster, DE Lenny Jones, LB Jeremiah George, WR Shaq Evans, OG Kadeem Edwards, and OG Klay DeBord to a reserve/future contract.
They are mostly practice squad players. Hamlett is a former undrafted free agent out of Oregon State. He caught a 17-yard touchdown in Week 5 against the Patriots.

Cowboys TE Connor Hamlett is out for the year with a fractured fibula and high ankle sprain.
Hamlett was competing for a roster spot behind Jason Witten, Rico Gathers, Geoff Swaim, and James Hanna. It’s just a minor blow to the Cowboys’ depth.
