A pair of golfers cracked Forbes’ annual World’s Highest Paid Athletes list.
Phil Mickelson came in at No. 7 and Jordan Spieth at No. 8. Mickelson was listed with combined earnings of $52.9 million, $50 million of which came off the course. Spieth combined for $52.8 million, $32 million of it in endorsements.
Tiger Woods, who hasn’t played since August, was ranked 12th, with $45.3 million, all except $274,000 coming through endorsements.
Other golfers on the list included:
- Rory McIlroy, No. 17: $42.6 million ($7.6 million in winnings; $35 million in endorsements)
- Jason Day, No. 69: $23.6 million ($15.1 million; $8.5 million)
Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo was ranked No. 1 with combined earnings of $88 million.
