Scott grouped with Z. Johnson, Walker at Colonial

Adam Scott will begin his reign as world No. 1 alongside Zach Johnson and Jimmy Walker this week at the Crowne Plaza Invitational.

The trio will begin their first rounds off the 10th tee at 7:44 a.m. CT Thursday. Scott moved to the top of the world rankings for the first time this week, and he’ll play with two men who have already won this year on the PGA Tour. Johnson, who captured the Hyundai Tournament of Champions, won at Colonial in both 2010 and 2012, while Walker has three wins to his credit this season and currently leads both the FedEx Cup standings and the season-long money list.

Boo Weekley will begin defense of his Crowne Plaza title at 12:44 p.m. alongside Harris English and Dustin Johnson, who both won during the 2013 portion of the 2013-14 season. After two straight runner-up finishes, Jim Furyk will play the first two rounds with Matt Kuchar and Rickie Fowler, as the trio will get things started early with a 7:33 a.m. tee time for the first round.
