Bengals signed WR Mitchell Tinsley to a one-year extension.
He was an exclusive rights free agent. Tinsley pushed former third-rounder Jermaine Burton out of Joe Burrow’s circle of trust in the preseason and managed an 8/116/2 seasonal receiving line, with 15 of those targets coming against the Ravens and Patriots as Tee Higgins was out. Tinsley isn’t exactly a fantasy football sleeper, but Burrow’s rapport with him does make him interesting as a contingency plan. The Bengals also signed these 18 other players to ERFA one-year deals or futures contracts: LB Liam Anderson, C Jacob Bayer, HB Gary Brightwell, QB Sean Clifford, OT Andrew Coker, DT Howard Cross, OT Javon Foster, WR Xavier Johnson, CB Jalen Kimber, CB Bralyn Lux, WR Jordan Moore, LB Antwaun Powell-Ryland, S Russ Yeast, DE Isaiah Foskey, LB Joe Giles-Harris, LB Shaka Heyward, TE Cam Grandy, and S PJ Jules.
  • CIN Defensive Tackle #94
    Bengals waived DT Eric Gregory.
ESPN’s Ben Baby notes that the Bengals have one practice squad spot remaining. Gregory could be a candidate for it. The Bengals signed OT Javon Foster and S Russ Yeast to the practice squad and released OT Devin Cochran.
  • FA Offensive Lineman #62
    Jaguars released OL Javon Foster.
Foster was working his way back from injury this offseason, with the team electing to go a different direction away from the former No. 114 overall selection. He could land on a different roster if healthy enough to contribute.
  • JAC Safety #6
Jaguars declared S Darnell Savage (quad), DT Maason Smith, OT Javon Foster, OL Cole Van Lanen, DT Tyler Lacy and DT Jordan Jefferson inactive for Week 2 against the Browns.
The Jaguars’ secondary took two notable hits this week, with Savage suffering a quad injury in practice and CB Tyson Campbell landing on injured reserve. The developments give the Browns’ flailing passing game a chance to keep pace, though little is guaranteed in that regard.
  • JAC Tackle
Jaguars selected Missouri OT Javon Foster with the No. 114 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Javon Foster (6'5.5/313) was a 3-star Offensive Tackle from West Bloomfield, Michigan in the 2018 recruiting class. Foster, a team captain and 1st Team All-SEC honoree, possesses a desirable frame that offensive line coaches will deem sufficient for further development. He has a credible get-off at the snap while quickly and effectively identifying his assignments. Foster, 24, demonstrates sufficient athleticism with a 1.77s 10-yard split (83rd%), 32.5” vertical (94th%) for a decent 63rd percentile RAS. He has trouble staying centered over his feet correctly, often losing his weight on the post foot leading to imbalance in moving backwards and a loss of anchor. His discomfort with his kick necessitates significant investment in coaching. Nevertheless, when he is moving forwards, such as on pulls, he is effective in squaring up defenders and taking them out of the play. One can observe Foster’s demeanor in the way he blocks down, shoving his assignment into the middle of the field. The biggest factor in his all-conference honor was in the way he handled rushers on an island.
