UNC received a verbal commitment from three-star 2020 TE John Copenhaver.
Copenhaver may “only” have the three-star designation, but the offers suggest something much more. Florida, Auburn, NC State, South Carolina, Tennessee and Iowa all had interest in the 6-foot-3, 210-pound tight end, among others. He’s ranked 12th at the position according to 247 Sports composite rankings, so this is a nice get for the Tar Heels. He’ll have to get stronger, but he could help as both a receiver and a blocker shortly after he enrolls in 2020.
